Starting college, especially as a first-generation student, can be both exciting and overwhelming, particularly when family ties are strong in Latinx culture. Family may fear they're losing you as you grow, and balancing this with your new academic demands can be tough. Learn ways to explain the demands of your college schedule and why you might not be able to come home as often as you’d like. This discussion will offer guidance on how to communicate with family about your evolving journey, the challenges of a demanding college schedule, and how to handle friendships that may no longer align with your experiences. Discover ways to grow while staying connected to those who matter most. It’s possible to honor your roots while embracing the exciting, and sometimes scary, path ahead. Let’s talk about how.
