Our club seeks to share our love of anime and broaden our fellow students' knowledge of this continually developing aspect of Japanese culture. In doing so, we hope to make Lafayette a more culturally aware and diverse campus, and help the student body become more open-minded and creative both as they learn and after they graduate. More than that, though, we seek to be a welcoming and friendly community to anyone at Lafayette, and allow people to enjoy all that anime and Japanese culture has to offer!

Our club seeks to foster and bring together all who enjoy anime, Japanese pop-culture, video games, and anything in between!

Every semester, all club members recommend shows for the club to watch. Then, out of those, everyone votes on 2 shows to watch during the semester. Mob rules. Each week, we meet weekly to watch one episode of each of the 2 series. Post-show, we talk it out!

We also host special events like movie screenings, either traveling together to local theaters or in our college's own on-campus theater. Additionally, we get together as a club and travel to at least one anime convention each semester, such as Comic Con in New York. We also take part in off-campus Japanese cultural events, such as monthly trips to JAPAN Fes, a Japanese food and cultural festival in NYC, Cherry Blossom Festivals, and other cultural events.

Starting in fall 2023, we will also feature some new programming as well. This may include things like cosplay contests, parties, and more, so stay tuned for any announcements!

Lastly, we're just a group of friends who hang out both in person and online, and you can often find lots of us eating lunch and dinner together. If you're a fan of anime, manga, or even general video games, you are absolutely welcome here!

LCET provides students the opportunity to take riding lessons and represent the college in intercollegiate equestrian competitions. All experience levels- from those who have ridden horses their entire lives to those who have never ridden before- are encouraged to join! The purpose of this organization shall be to represent Lafayette College in equestrian competition as a club sports team and to provide a means for Lafayette College students to participate and develop skills in equestrian sports.

This purpose is necessarily twofold. To provide a welcoming team environment for Lafayette College Students and the goal the ability to learn, participate in, and enjoy equestrian sports, and additionally, to compete against the equestrian teams of other colleges and universities, are to be considered equally as important in fulfilling the team's ultimate goals. Each of these components of the team's ultimate purpose are to be reasonably considered and weighed in making all executive decisions of the team.

The Lafayette Investment Club is an educational resource offering real world experience to Lafayette students interested in the world of investing. Starting in 1946 with $3,000, it is the oldest student-run investment club in America, currently managing a portfolio worth over $800,000. With backgrounds ranging from "no experience, but I want to learn" to "I manage a personal portfolio" this investment club is ideal for anyone interested in learning how to make (or lose) money.

We strive to educate members on the investing process by creating presentations on helpful concepts and investing in real assets. Our funds are available to test our own ideas and learn from our decisions. The club organizes trips to Wall Street, brings in informative speakers, and supports various activities to encourage student development. While the Executive Board sets the agenda for weekly meetings, the club relies on the input and participation of all of its members. Unless emergency action is required, all decisions by the Lafayette Investment Club are voted on during Friday meetings by its students.

Our portfolio consists of an assortment of securities with the majority being equity-based. Other than domestic stocks and mutual funds, the Investment Club also invests internationally, currently holding an emerging markets exchange traded fund. In addition, the club also owns bonds and holds a percentage of the portfolio in cash, which is used to buy new assets and to fund the club's annual field trip to Wall Street.

The Investment Club meets on Fridays during lunch in the basement of the Simon Economics Center. Free pizza and soda is always provided for members in attendance. Meetings typically involve an update on the current market, proposals to buy or sell securities, informative presentations, or guest speakers brought in to either educate members in their area of expertise or discuss possible job and internship opportunities.

Whether you actively participate in making proposals, or just come to learn the fundamentals of investing, you can always count on walking away with having learned at least one thing that will allow you to make money in the future.

We are the Lafayette Crew Club, a competitive rowing team. We are made up of 60 male and female rowers. We compete in regattas during the fall and spring seasons locally in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. We train all year to compete at the Dad Vail Regatta in May, the nation's largest collegiate regatta. In the past two years, we have had three separate boats medal at this regatta. Whether or not you have rowed before, we encourage everyone to try it out!

Pottery Club seeks to give ceramic lovers a place to create art using clay. Pottery Club is a social group that will teach students, through videos and live demonstrations, about different styles and techniques that can be used to make ceramic pieces. Pottery Club will enhance students pottery skills through handbuilding, using the pinch pot, coiling, and slab method, as well as introduce and improve students form and technique on the pottery wheel.

We hope to foster student interest in ceramics. The club will serve as a space to release stress and decompress as well as a place to develop the virtues of patience and endurance.
